POEM REVISION; ARE YOU STILL PLAYING YOUR FLUTE?

SYNOPSIS
This poem his about a persona who reminisces the time he/she spends when in a village. There are many things that are now luxury to her such as listening to the melody of the flute itself, gazing at the evening rays, collecting dew drops, or enjoying the fragrance of flowers. The village is now unpopulated as many have moved to the city. Now that she has moved on with her life, she wonders whether the flutist is still playing the flute. This is because, there are many challenges in the world today such as the world is dying, the unemployment issue and the people are disunited because of different political views.

NO RUNNING MAN WITHOUT MONDAY COUPLE, GARY OPPA FIGHTING!!

I and my father OR my father and I OR what?

The answer is = Both are okay, Depends on the sentence/situation

*    My dad and I watch TV.
Me and my dad watch TV =   Both are correct, but which one make sense?. So, which one you prefer?

I watch TV  OR  Me watch TV......... Which one is better?, So?

*   My dad and I went to the store.
She bought ice cream for me and my dad.

Take the other person (in this case your dad) out of the sentence and see if it still makes sense. So if your dad wasn't in the sentence, "I went to the store" would still be fine, so would "she bought ice cream for me."

*   Mom made a pie for me and my dad.
Mom made a pie for me.

Mom made a pie for I and my dad.
Mom made a pie for I............................................ Which one is better?

DESCRIBING AN OBJECT/TOOL/SPM ESSAY

How to describe an object/tool/thing?.

Let say you got a topic' handphone', how you going to write about it?. You just practise writing  'A television'.

It's very simple, You already practised 'A television'. When you get a different topic like A handphone or A computer, or A book....... Just change the physical characteristic of it, and mostly are remain the same!!

Please remember that ; The thesis sentence should convey your overall impression of your subject. Does it make you happy? Is it attractive or ugly? Is your object useful? Each topic sentence should introduce a new part or stage of your chosen topic.

Read the paragraph below,..... then guess the topic, It describe an object,

what that object?

My article of clothing is with me at all times.   It consists of a 3cm circular base and two separate straps, each 6cm long connected by a metal clasp.   These two straps and a clasp are then connected to the top and bottom of the base.   The straps are outlined in hard rigid silver, looking as my uncle's smoothly brushed gray hair.   Through the center of the 2cm
wide straps is a 1cm in width gold strip.   The gold looks as bright as a gold chalice from my local church.   The clasp is a hard silvery gray such as that which borders the straps.   The letters 'SEIKO' are clearly placed on the clasp in raised lettering.   The clasp looks 3cm long when in the closed position, but when opened it extends to 11cm as two more 4cm metal
pieces open outward.

The face of the object is encircled with a gold color, gold as the trim on my father's Cadillac.   Inside the gold trim, the background is a black color.   The black is like the black rubber on my car's Cooper tires. Towards the top of this face, there is a number 12, the bottom has a number
6, and the leftmost number has a number 9.   Each of these numbers are raised in lettering in a gold color.   On the rightmost side, there is a 1/2cm x 1/5cm sized box.   This box is then further separated in two parts. 2/3s of the box is devoted towards showing the current day's first 3
letters, now showing a THU for Thursday.   The remaining space of the box is set aside for the date of the month.   In this box the number 14 is shown. Both, the day and the date, are in white colors.   This white is like a white hospital gown, starched and cleaned.   The face of the object has 56 small lines all facing from the outside of the circle towards the middle. These gold lines are equally separated all aro the face of the object.

.............................................Is that a watch? ...............................................
OR YOU CAN CHOOSE TO WRITE LIKE THIS ;

Introduction = General idea about television

In your body -
Parag 1 = physical appearance of the tool or object - size, height, weight, colour, price, where to get/buy?, who use it?, etc....
Parag 2 = special appearance - what is the special details about it?, Why do people like it? What is advantage of TV?..Give two reason with details.......
For example ; The use or advantages of television are sharing information, learning tool,...... explain in details about these two use of Television
Parag 3 = Another two advantages of TV and explain in details with example
Parag 4 = Tell the reader about the disadvantages of Television - at least you have 3 disadvantages and explain briefly

Conclusion = Sum up ideas in the body, or suggestion or comment

15 SEPTEMBER 2009
Dear Sir,
Poor Maintenance of Taman Jayadiri
I am writing this letter on behalf of the residents of Taman Jayadiri to complain about the dismal conditions we have been putting up with for the past three months.
2. One of the main grouses of the residents concerns uncollected rubbish (point 1). Initially, rubbish was collected three times a week. However, since June this year the garbage collectors have only been coming once a week. Our litter bins are always filled to the brim and we have no choice but to leave our bags of rubbish next to the bins. The rotting waste causes a terrible stench (point 2). Worse still, stray cats and dogs scatter the rubbish (point 3) while looking for food. This is not only unpleasant but also unhealthy.
3. Most of the drains in Taman Jayadiri are clogged (point 4) with rubbish resulting in the water becoming stagnant. It is not uncommon to see plastic bags, bottles and dry leaves in these drains. There is an urgent need to clear these drains as the stagnant water is an idealbreeding ground for mosquitoes (point 5). The residents are worried as there has been a sharp increase in dengue cases (point 6) in the last two months.
4. The street lights along several roads are also not working (point 7). This has caused several accidents at night (point 8), mostly involving motorcyclists as they are unable to see in the dark. Unfortunately, the dark streets have also led to another problem – an increase in crime (point 9). Several residents, especially women, have fallen victim to snatch thieves.
5. The one and only playground in our area is also not well-maintained (point 10). The grass is overgrown (point 11) as it has not been cut for almost three months. Besides, the playground equipment is damaged (point 12). Many of the see-saws and swings have been spoiled by vandals.
I hope the council will look into our complaints and take prompt action to solve our problems.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
RajvindGill

No one is allowed to wear jewellery. If you do, then your jewellery will be confiscated. In addition, you cannot use make-up. Your nails should always be kept short.
